Iristrace’s intermediate database offers you a connection to consult and exploit the data collected on our platform. It is a parallel connection that is updated up to 4 times a day.
You can connect to it to perform analysis of your data with market tools such as: Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Apache SuperSet, ODBC, etc.
1. Hosting #
1.1. Iristrace’s server #
The intermediate database will be hosted and configured on Iristrace’s servers.
To make the connection you must provide a set of IP addresses which will be the only ones you will be able to access as they will be validated by our firewall.
You will receive an email with the following details:
- Host: XXXX.iristrace.com
- Port: xxxxx
- Database: iristrace
- User: xxx
- Password: xxxx
The user offered is read-only.
At Iristrace, all database connections are secured with SSL. Therefore, depending on the software you use when defining the connection, you may need to indicate that it uses an SSL connection.
We use MariaDB as a replacement for MySQL because of performance, but both are perfectly compatible.
The client can use a MySQL connector, but in case of some specific software (like Microsoft PowerBI) the MariaDB specific ODBC can be used. It is perfectly explained here.
1.2. Own servers #
We understand that some cases require a greater degree of control and customisation on the part of the client. Therefore, Iristrace also offers the possibility to host this intermediate database on your own servers.
Working with your own database allows for greater customisation to your unique needs, giving you direct control over the administration and technical aspects.
